The Faculty organizes study programs in specialist and subspecialist education in accordance with the Health Care Law.

 SPECIALIZATIONS

Specializations are organized according to the programs which define the extent, content and plan of theoretical and practical teaching and the plan of practical work, as well as the knowledge and skills acquired.

Admission is accomplished after the public call.

SUBSPECIALIZATIONS

Admission to subspecialist studies is accomplished for individuals who completed their studies of medicine, acquired appropriate specialization, have good command of one foreign language and obtained the Decision of the Ministry of Health.

The Dean can request from the Ministry the approval regarding subspecialist studies for Faculty teachers of clinical courses. The request has to be based upon the suggestion of the relevant Department, the needs of the department and the Faculty.

ABOUT THE STUDIES

Theoretical and practical teaching is effectuated at the Faculty and its educational bases for two semesters.

Health care professionals and associates, after obtaining the Decision from the Ministry, start their specialist internship from the day of admission to the Faculty.

During the studies a specialist-candidate has to pass the colloquia defined in the plan and program of the specialization in question.

After completing all the requirements, a candidate applies for the final, specialist or subspecialistic exam.

The exam consists of the practical and theoretical parts.

Subspecialist exams and specialist exams in preventive fields of medicine and dentistry also have the defence of thesis.

After the exam, the Commission grades the candidate in the following way: "excellent", "very good", "good" or "failed".

A candidate who fails at the exam may take it twice more (with periods between them not shorter than 6 months), and if he fails three times he cannot apply for that exam anymore.
